What aspects of your work with the St. Louis & Kansas City communities are you most proud of?

I love the fact that we are in Missouri. The more firms that come in from out of town and they try to poach the cases from our state, take all that money back to their state for their businesses, it makes me all the more proud to be in Missouri. And every activity we do, I like the ones that puts me out meeting the people. Maybe that’s my own ego because I just enjoy it and they’re always so nice to me. If we’re doing the parades, whether it’s the Italian Festival parade on the hill, or the Pride Festival in the middle of the summer, or the Annie Malone Parade, the Sista Strut Parade, anytime we get to interact with the public and they want to come up to us and get excited, we get pictures done with them. Like to me that’s the most exciting. But even at Christmas time- and we don’t publicize this because we’re not doing it for publicity, but we look for the neediest families out of our own clientele and we go out of our way to make sure that they have the greatest Christmas their family has ever had, just the most bountiful. And that just is something our employees love doing and when you see them, it’s so personal. I mean, that warms you, fills you up for the entire holiday season. You take that good feeling into the new year and you just want to build on it.
