$600K Car Accident Settlement Following T-Bone Collision That Led To Cervical Surgery

Devon Eggerman and his team successfully secured a $600,000 total settlement for their client. This amount included the $100,000 liability policy limits and $500,000 UIM policy limits.

Our client was T-boned on December 4, 2022, and sustained a concussion, torn retinas (discovered later), and neck and back pain. After undergoing conservative treatment for a period, an MRI revealed cervical damage requiring extensive cervical surgery with medical bills exceeding $450,000.

The liability carrier promptly tendered their $100,000 policy limits. However, the UIM carrier requested extensive prior records, going back nearly 20 years, citing a prior motor vehicle accident noted in the client’s records and ongoing pain reported for about 1.5 years before the incident. The team obtained and submitted five years of primary care and chiropractic records, which showed no significant ongoing complaints. They gave the UIM carrier a 14-day deadline to offer the limits. Within a week, the UIM carrier agreed to pay the $500,000 limits.
